The Reconciliation of Two Cultures
Some ten years ago, Vardan Hovanissian's duduk and Emre Gültekin's saz began a musical exchange that extended to the creation of Adana, a long overdue album that would reflect their fruitful musical collaborations.
The old friends, one from Armenia, the other from Turkey, felt compelled to release an album that would inspire harmony and reconciliation in the context of the anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, an event that inflicted both nations with deep scars carried forward to this day.
Vardan and Emre's music will bring you into a contemplative mood. There’s plenty of nostalgia but at the same time it’s open to hope and optimism. After all, life always endures and flourishes, no matter the odds.
