Evocative Psaltery Sounds
Indrė Jurgelevičiūtė is a Lithuanian singer and Baltic psaltery player (known in Lithuania as kanklės). She combines her native music roots with improvisations in different styles, taking the traditional psaltery sound in innovative directions.
Indrė has been widely recognized for her musical collaborations, including Solo & Indrė, the album duet with the late Senegalese griot Solo Cissokho and the world music bands Merope and MaLiTuanie.
This particular video was the first Juke Train video filmed ever. The train, built during the Soviet period, was super noisy rattling all the way during filming. We miss that old clunker.
