Nikolai Oorzhak (Republic of Tuva, Russia) is the Hereditary Shaman and Master of "Khoomei" Throat Singing.

In Tuva shamans often inherit their abilities, and Nikolay was no exception. There were shamans on his mother's side, and her father was a famous shaman of Tuva. On this basis, Nikolay started his healing

Nikolai Oorzhak singing enchants. Sometimes it is hard to believe that this vibrations, tons of variations of amazing sounds are produced by one man. The Shaman of nine clouds excelled in all (!) guttural singing styles: sygryt, kargyra, ezengiler, borbanadyr, khoomei, and is considered khoomeizhi (guttural singing khoomei master) both at home and abroad. During performances, Nicolai plays intuitively, using national instruments: mordant, drum, jew, rain stick. The sound you hear touches the essence of every human being, the most subtle inner states, calming mind and expanding consciousness

By today, Nikolai also reveals a unique talent of jazz improviser, and actually develops a new direction in ethno-jazz - a "khoomei-jazz". At the moment he is welcomed and honorary guest at different folklore and jazz festivals in Russia, Europe and over Atlantics
